As far as the beauty industry is concerned, it seems rumors persist on just about everything. And with so many celebrities endorsing and going against different beauty treatments, it can become challenging to discern myth from fact. Not to worry, though; we’re here to help. In this blog, we’ll bust some of the most common myths when it comes to fillers. Let’s begin.
It Looks Fake
That’s not true. It doesn’t have to look fake. The technique is everything when it comes to tailored procedures. A good aesthetician will spend some time talking to you about your needs. They will also inform you about the side effects (if any!) and the results you can expect. So when you’re choosing an injector, make sure they’ll be transparent with you about everything.
It Hurts and Makes Your Lips Sag
Once again, that’s fake news. Doctors will numb your skin with a local anesthetic first to make sure you don’t feel the pinch. Moreover, since fillers generally contain lidocaine, you’re not likely to feel any pain after the first injection.
Moreover, fillers are generally made from hyaluronic acid, which already exists in our bodies. So when the filler is injected, it starts dissolving, and the hyaluronic acid does its work by thickening the skin’s layer.
The Effects Are Permanent
Again, that’s not true. As long as you have hyaluronic-based fillers injected into your body, the effects will not be permanent. Your body will continue to break down the acid and help rejuvenate your skin. However, if you’re unhappy with the results and wish to discontinue, you can easily do so by taking a substance called Hyalase. It will dissolve the filler immediately.
The Results take Long and Come With Bruises
That isn’t really the case. Filler treatments don’t generally require a lot of time to show results. In fact, you can see the results about 20 minutes into your procedure. Moreover, if you have an experienced injector at your service, they’ll minimize the chances of bruising. However, if you do experience some swelling, you can apply a cold compressor to help the problem.
