Laser Hair Removal Apprentice-In Training

[Course 1, Level 1]

Course Description

Laser Hair Removal (LHR) technicians reduce body hair safely and effectively through the use of state-of-the-art laser equipment. LHR is one of the most commonly used cosmetic treatment procedures in the US. It is the process of hair removal by means of exposure to pulses of light that destroy the hair follicle. Laser hair removal can be safely performed on almost all parts of the body, and is used most often to remove hair in areas such as the legs, back, face, neck, underarms and bikini area. The 40 Hour Laser Hair Removal Apprentice-in-Training certification course provides the study of theory, practice and science of laser hair removal procedures.

This Course Includes:

  1. In-person lecture & hands on, training and practice located at our school training facility.
  2. A complimentary binder of all the LHR printed course materials – yours to take home.
  3. Chapter skills assessments to check understanding of key course concepts.
  4. A presentation on medical spa operations, with insights on effective methods for building a successful LHR practice.
  5. Laser Safety Officer (LSO) certificate of completion.
  6. A CPR certificate of completion.
  7. A certificate of completion as a 40 Hour Laser Hair Removal – Apprentice in Training .

Admission Requirements:

  1. The minimum age for admissions is at least 18 years of age at the date of application.
  2. Students must have attained a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.

LASER TECHNICIAN

[Course 2, Level 2]

Objective

Students enjoy the option to conduct their first 100 treatments at The Shimaa Academy.  The student will perform 100 treated areas on 4 different live models (1 hour treatment per model) under the direct supervision of either a Registered Senior or Registered Professional Laser Hair Removal Technician.  

By completing the 100 Treatment Practicum at The Shimaa Academy, the student is able to expedite his or her registration status to that of a Registered Certified Laser Hair Removal Technician with TDLR.

Admission Requirements:

  1. Completion of state approved and recognized 40 hour laser hair removal training.
  2. The minimum age for admissions is at least 18 years of age at the date of application.
  3. Students must have attained a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.

SENIOR LASER TECHNICIAN

[Course 3, Level 3]

Objective

In this level, it is required that you observe 100 Treatments be performed by an apprentice. 

Admission Requirements:

  1. A certificate of completion from state approved and recognized Laser Hair Removal Technician.
  2. The minimum age for admissions is at least 18 years of age at the date of application.
  3. Students must have attained a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.

PROFESSIONAL LASER TECHNICIAN

[Course 4, Level 4]

Objective

This is the final, highest level. In this level, it is required to take a written exam. Once you have completed the exam and reached a passing grade, you will receive a Professional Laser Technician certificate. To obtain your Professional Laser Technician License from the state you must mail a copy of your certificate along with the application and state processing fees.

Written Exam:

There is no time limit in taking the written exam or limits on retaking the test. You must have completed the test and reached a passing grade of at least 70%. You must call us to enroll. Once you are enrolled, we will email you all details for the class. Once you have completed and reached a passing grade of at least 70%, The Shimaa Academy will send you a Professional Laser Technician certificate.
